As soon as you have been accepted as a Seneca student, you will need to take the English Skills Assessment Test. This is not the same test you may have done when you first applied to your program, and it is free. Book an appointment as soon as possible by calling 416-491-5050 ext. 6868 or email them at Skills.Assessment@senecac.on.ca. Take your student number and photo identification to the test.

Skills Assessment may be done either at Newnham Campus (see map) or at Seneca at York Campus in the Library, Fast Lab (Room S1112).

The test results will be available on the Seneca administration system within 48 hours. Your English and Liberal Studies coordinator will only then be able to assign you to an English class if you do not already have one on your timetable.

TAKE THE TEST AT YORK CAMPUS (S1112) OR AT THE NEWNHAM CAMPUS (map shown above).

If you are at the ESL level, you may be required to take EAP330 or EAP300 to improve your knowledge of English before you can progress to EAP500 then EAC150. You may also take your first Liberal Studies elective when you reach the level of EAP500 or EAC149..

For more information on English for Academic Purposes (EAP), please call Andrea Sloggett, EAP Coordinator, at 416-491-5050 ext. 2406. You may also visit an English & Liberal Studies Coordinator in S2086, Seneca & York.

The English Skills Assessment test will
determine if you are
Granted exemption from EAC150 College English, or
Required to take EAC150 College English, or
Required to take EAC149 Developmental English or EAP500
before EAC150, or
